Library Policies and Guidelines

Pius XII Memorial Library plans to be open during the Fall Semester with reduced capacity and hours TBD.

Things to know before coming to the library:

  • Masks must be worn to enter and use the library

  • Observe reduced occupancy limits in all Library/ATC spaces: study tables and carrels, group and single study rooms, elevators, restrooms, etc

  • Clean/Disinfect areas you will be using (keyboards, mice, study tables, etc.). Cleaning materials will be readily available

  • Book returns should be placed in the exterior book bins located outside of the Lindell doors

  • Follow the designated traffic patterns in the library – entrance/exit, stairways, stacks

    • Enter Pius Library at West Pine side only

    • Exit Pius Library at Lindell side only

Library spaces and features available:

  • The askSLU ATC Desk will be open to answer your technology & library questions

  • At the askSLU Lindell Desk: Observe all signage. Dedicated space will be available for in-depth consultations

  • Print jobs at public black/white and color printers: One student at a time at the printers. Students waiting must observe 6-foot distancing

  • Scanners: Only one person per scanner at a time. If both scanners are being used, please come back at another time

  • Poster Printing: Ring bell to notify staff

  • Students may request books (via the online library catalog) to be pulled for them

  • Study rooms: Students may reserve study rooms/areas and must observe mask and occupancy policies
