Students from around campus have compiled this list of fun, creative, socially distant activities. Consider taking screenshots of this page so you can reference these activities throughout the semester.
Things to do with friends in person:
While we cannot socialize as we are used to, there are many things we can do to be together in person, outside, from more than six feet apart.
Eat dinner in lawn chairs or on blankets
Go somewhere on campus and text your friends clues to find you (be safe!)
Spend time with wildlife by the Cook Hall and Olive-Compton ponds
Kick a soccer ball and create makeshift goals
Play catch with a Frisbee or baseball
Take pictures imitating statues on campus
Study outside
Everyone find the most bizarre book you can from the library catalog and meet up to read pages out loud
Yoga or other exercise
Go for a distanced walk
Attend events through Billikens After Dark, the Student Involvement Center, or other SLU organizations
Come up with a series of competitions you can do distantly and keep score
BYOH (Bring Your Own Hammock!)
Arts and crafts outside — BYOS (Bring Your Own Supplies!)
Play improv games
Go on an on-campus coffee date
Get up early to watch the sunrise together near the clock tower or College Church
Water balloon toss/fight or capture the flag
Pilgrimage from College Church to the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis
Things to do with friends online:
During bad weather, late at night, or to be safer, virtual experiences could be preferable to in-person activity.
