Hello Team and Family –
Day #1 is in the books. It was amazing to hear about all of your interactions with our students, and how we were able to successfully guide them through the first day of virtual instruction. As we enter day #2, please see the following thoughts and things to remember/reiterate:
Attendance – Today was the first day, so hiccups were to be expected. Many of your school teams have started to address the issues, and began working to improve upon these issues for tomorrow. Please make sure to start reaching out to families, and encourage them to go directly to school if they are needing any type of support.
Grace – Thank you for giving students grace, and extending that grace to others. Please continue extending grace through your flexibility and patience with students as we endure this new normal.
Joyful Environments – This is unconventional for everyone. I was so appreciative and grateful for the lengths that you all went to make sure students felt seen in this virtual world. Please continue that work. No matter the learning modality, you (the teacher) are the difference-makers and the reason why students show up. Please continue to deposit coins in that relationship bank!
Tomorrow, we will continue visiting more classrooms. We look forward to seeing everyone. Please feel free to send me any feedback or thoughts regarding ways that we can support you. Thank you for all of your efforts on day #1 – this is a different start to the school year, but the love and care you have for students could be felt over the internet – they truly loved seeing you! Thank you for all you do and continue to shine.
