Grading FAQ

1) What is the late work policy? How much time do we give students to complete a missing assignment?

Due to the setting we’re in right now, late work will not be penalized during Quarter 1. Students don’t need to know this though. You may enter grades retroactively into PT. However, as we move forward, this may possibly change a little for Quarter 2.

2) How should Co-Teachers & Enrichment Teachers input grades into PS?

Grades must be given to the core-teacher to be input under them in PT. Co-Teachers and Enrichment teachers will be responsible for doing that since they don’t have a class assigned to PT yet. We understand how frustrating this is. Mr. Acosta has been trying arduously to ensure everyone has students assigned in PT. We will keep following up with Mr. Acosta in order to keep improving systems and expectations.

3) Humanities, STEAM, & Science teachers are entering two grades a week for 150 students. Is there a way for another teacher to be added to PS to assist in grade entering?

Unfortunately, there aren’t any other teachers assigned to assist STEAM, Science, and Humanities. My advice, is to build a habit of entering grades on a weekly basis in order to avoid weeks of work needed to be entered in all at once.

4) How many grades are due in PT for progress by 10/23? How many grades do I need to put into PT each week?

You should have 6-8 grades in PT by 10/23. At least 1 needs to be a Standard grade. Starting on 10/26, 2 grades need to be entered weekly, 1 Standard and 1 Non-Standard.
