TSCG is a unique, flexible, student-based identification system. TSCG uses a combination of tests and teacher input to identify the achievement levels of all students into the following categories by subject area.
Teacher teams work collaboratively to create class placements.
Students who score in the top 10 percent of students in each grade level in Skokie District 69 on the District administered NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment in the spring are automatically placed into math enrichment for the following fall.
Students who have successfully completed the math enrichment class the previous year will be automatically placed into the math enrichment class for the following fall.
Additional recommendations for students into math enrichment are based on a review of a variety of additional academic assessments given at the district and classroom levels. In addition, the Scales for Rating the Characteristics of Superior Students (Renzulli Scale) will be completed and reviewed. Both teachers and families have the ability to recommend students for consideration. Please contact the building principal for more information.
