Students who score in the top 10 percent of students in each grade level in Skokie District 69 on the District administered NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment in the spring are automatically placed into advanced classes for the following fall. Placement in Advanced Science, requires top 10 percent (local norms) in BOTH reading and math.
Students who have successfully completed advanced classes in that subject the previous year will be automatically placed into the advanced class of that subject for the following fall.
Additional recommendations for students into the Advanced Learners Program (ALP) are based on a review of a variety of additional academic assessments given at the district and classroom levels. Teachers and families have the ability to recommend students for consideration by members of the ALP committee. Please contact the building principal for more information.
