History of the Program
The ALP Program was started in 2016-2017 after a team of stakeholders including parents, teachers, board members, and administrators worked with Rima Binder from the Illinois Association of Gifted Children.
The ALP Learning Team met over the course of 6 months during the 2015-2016 school year to develop a vision, guiding principles, and recommendations for an Advanced Learners Program.
The ALP committee consisting of teachers and administrators was formed to continue the work of the Learning Team.
The ALP committee does an annual review of all programing in the Spring. Each school also has an alp committee to review student portfolios after each benchmark testing.
