LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) is an intermediate to advanced language and settlement program. Participants learn:
High intermediate to advanced language skills needed to access higher levels of education and employment, including advanced conversation skills, Canadian culture, writing and grammar.
Access to other programs upon graduation from LINC
Become a confident speaker
Enjoy more classroom interaction
Free child minding for children aged 19 months to 5 years is available

Number of classes held
LINC program was able to maintain the participation of newcomer clients in the virtual model of the program. Instructors adapted the LINC curriculum to ensure that the participants improved their language, had access to online virtual tours and received other settlement supports. All while still completing language testing and applying the Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) model.
