1. Do all of this before July 31st, 2024! (Early Registration ends July 31st.)

2. Become a student member of GSA ($25).

3. Register to be a Student Volunteer at the meeting.  By doing this, you will work a total of 10 hours during the meeting and in return,  get free registration for the meeting.  Otherwise, the student registration rate is $185-200.  

4. Fill out a travel authorization form in order to get reimbursed for the trip and be covered by SJSU insurance while on the trip. 

A.        Log onto your one.SJSU account.

B.        Search for: FTS (Financial Transaction Services).

C.        Click on the FTS button.

D.        Click the “+” button for Travel Authorization in the Travel panel and enter the information on the form:

·      Traveler Home Dept ID = 1173

·      Traveler’s University Affiliation = Student employee

·      Travel Type:  Team Travel

·      Funding Source = (Ask Ellen for number)

E.        Save and Submit.

5. Gather your GeoPaths pals and find a place to stay.  Shared housing can be a great option for students.  GSA has a discussion board with people looking to share housing and sometimes this is a great way to meet other students.

6. Buy a discounted Disneyland ticket!  Specially discounted tickets are available for visiting Disneyland during GSA.  Once you are registered for the meeting, a link will be sent to you for purchasing tickets at the special rates.  The single-day discounted pass = $97, vs. the $139-169 normal rate.

7. Don't worry about transportation--we've got you covered!  Department vehicles have been reserved!
