Students learned about the source of our Catholic Truth this past week. We started with what is truth and continued through "where do we get truth" and ultimately "How can we come to know what is true and good." This lead to our understanding of Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the Magisterium, and how they work together to lead the faithful. Of course we did this through your students helping me understand how to read a recipe.

The next couple of weeks, we are going to be doing some BIBLE 101. We will disect it, understand its parts, learn how to use it in our faith, and ultimately begin our study of Covenant history from Creation through the Exodus. 

Public Speaking is a large tool this year. Students understanding their faith through how they communicate and discuss. My 7th grades traditionally lead their class and the 5th graders through weekly/bi-weekly prayer services. The theme of this year's prayer services is "Dignity of others." Groups are deciding on how their prayer service can help others better understand and honor God's creation, you and I. Students will have a couple of days to work on these as the expectations are HIGH.

Once it seems like students have some momentum, we will begin our Bible Study of David and eventually deep dive into the Gospels. This is a great unit that I truly do enjoy.

We are in! Students are getting a better understanding of the Prophets! Who they are and what they are all about. This will serve as an introduction to Isaiah and the Servant Song that points us to Jesus. We are reading and studying directly from our Bibles. This reading will not always be easy, but it will be something we work through and understand together.
