This was a week of so many blessings and laughs. I am gateful to be in the classroom with your students daily. They bring questions, joy, engagement, and effort. Thank you for sharing them with the SJS family.
As we look ahead, Applefest is taking place with two half days. So much of the start of the school year is odd weeks, longer weekends, still summer nights, and early mornings. It's a big transition for everyone. I want to continue encouraging expectations for self-respect and respect of others. Every day students have a fresh slate and a restart button from the day before, what they do with that is up to them. Students might not always feel like they have control of their classroom, their time, or what they wear, but regardless, they still have choices of how they show up, how they represent themselves, and how they can add to their own school experience! Let's keep encouraging good choices!
(English, 7th Literature, 8th Literature)
We’ve officially wrapped up Week 2, and 7th grade is crushing it! With a larger class this year, we’ve had a few growing pains as we settle into routines and expectations, but we are working through them together and making great progress.
A quick reminder for next week: There is no school on Monday, and Tuesday is Picture Day! We’re looking forward to another great week!
(Math, 6th Literature)
Great work on prayer this week homeroom! You guys were wonderful at mass all week as well, the preschoolers had a great time meeting you Wednesday! They can't wait for next week! Next week is Applefest week!
Have a wonderful weekend!
(Science, 7th History, 8th History)
Everyone seems to be re-adjusting to being back in school. 6th science is learning about topography. 7th grade is learning about waves and civilizations such as the Aztec and Inca. 8th grade is learning about the Gilded Age and chemical and physical changes.
