Week of May 18:
In this final week, we will play some games practicing our numbers. Fourth and fifth graders should have brought home their folders about Chile to share some of our different writing and art activities.
Their homework is to share with you some of what they they learned about Sra. Olea's home country, including the deserts and Inca constellations in the north, the ski resorts in the Andes Mountains near Santiago, the tradition of onces tea time, the Mapuche people and colder weather in the south, and the moai in Easter Island (Isla de Pascua or Rapa Nui).
¡Que tengan un buen verano! Have a good summer!

SPRING THEME: This spring semester we are studying the country where Señora Olea is from! Chile! Chile is a long, skinny country that goes all the way from the driest desert in the world in the north to the tip of South America near Antarctica
in the south. In between there are more than seven thousand miles of
beaches, volcanoes, lakes, deserts, forests, cities, and much more to
discover. Easter Island is also part of Chile with its huge, mysterious
moais. So get your passports ready… ¡Vamos a Chile!
