Page 2 of cars from the original series

This is the original RJ Reynolds tobacco IMSA GTU Pace car built by Bob Sharp for the series. 3 cars were built, one of which was destroyed by Sam Posey in a racing incident. RJR gave the car to the Road Atlanta driving school which was later sold to Jerry Adkins in Atlanta. He in turn campaigned in vintage racing for a few years and then with permission from Bob Sharp repainted it to the Sam Posey car livery. The car was eventually sold to Dr. Allen Robbins of NY (who owned the other original BSR GTU) after I introduced the two and I assume he still owns them both today.

The two remaining Bob Sharp IMSA GTUs including the repainted Camel GT pace car (#33) at Road Atlanta Walter Mitty Challenge. The #33 has the narrowed rear fenders versus the original wide ones on the pace car.

from Ernie; I happened across a few pics of Bob Sharp's Camel GT Pace car I took at

Sears Point Raceway late 1970's - as it was ready to enter the course to lead the race cars. The rear shot where the guys are looking at the Pace

Car just about to enter the pit lane, reminded me of how we use to dress in

the 70's!! That car sounded so nasty - very radical cam!
