Through purposeful coaching and professional development, the Special Education Teacher Leader provides supports with the intent to increase teacher effectiveness. Whereas, the first line of instructional reinforcement is the building Instructional Coach, the Special Education Teacher Leader is also available to be a classroom supporter, data coach, instructional specialist, and learning facilitator.
Special Education Teacher Leaders bring evidence-based instructional practices and strategies into classrooms by working with teachers and other school leaders. We also coach staff on how to effectively collect and analyze data, implement and write compliant IEPs, deliver and differentiate instruction to prevent undesired behavior, teach replacement behavior, reinforce desired behavior, and use evidence-based proactive classroom management strategies
