What is WUSNA?

WUSNA is the Widener University Student Nurses’ Association and it is proudly run by the students of Widener University. Being involved with nursing extracurricular activities is one of the most important aspects of being a student nurse. WUSNA is the best way to take your first steps for becoming a dynamic student.  WUSNA creates an active opportunity for nursing students to become intellectually engaged in events with their local school chapter, their community, and at the state level (with SNAP).

As a WUSNA member I have personally volunteered for the American Red Cross blood drives at Widener.YOU CAN TOO!  As a WUSNA member I have helped make FLU kits for schools in the community of Chester and for students here at Widener. YOU CAN TOO! As a WUSNA member I have attended the annual SNAP convention and witnessed our scholarly Seniors of Widener win second place in the Nursing Challenge bowl. YOU CAN TOO!

At our WUSNA meetings we discuss a variety of topics in nursing, such as current issues in nursing, what to expect as a nursing student, tips on how to apply for a job/externships/internships, or how to raise money for our nursing students.  As you attend general meetings you earn WUSNA points which leads you to becoming an active member!  When you have earned 100 points you will be pinned at the pinning ceremony at the end of each school year.  Being a nursing student is wonderful and exciting in itself, but why not kick it up a notch? Now is the time to join your fellow nursing students, come to WUSNA meetings and GET INVOLVED!!!
