Lazy Susan Just Got Lazier

I meant, the Lazy Susan just got easier to make. And cheaper, and quicker at under $20. Click picture for a larger image.

I made one Lazy Susan earlier where the top was made from scratch (jointed three pieces and made the circular cut). That took some saw dust making and a good amount of time. Soon I found out there is an easier way. One can buy a ready-made perfect circle top from the home center for $6.50; other tops are available if a larger diameter turn table is desired. Cost will be a little higher, of course.

The hardware was purchased for $4.50; rubber feet for $3.50 and the only tool needed is a screw driver to complete the assembly. Sand paper and polyurethane to finish. A day project and a fun one to do. You don't have to tell your friends how easy it was to make. Naturally, this turn table, a.k.a. Lazy Susan, can be whatever you want it to be and express your creativity in many ways. I am still wondering why this is called a Lazy Susan.
