Lower North Coast Health Service (LNCHS) was one of two Area Health Services assigned to me to:
pilot New South Wales Health’s first Area-wide Hospital Service Asset Strategic Plans and to
develop model processes, methodologies and tools for Asset Strategic Planning.
LNCHS was responsible for delivering hospital and related health services to the localities of Greater Taree, Gloucester and Great Lakes. The populations of these localities were served by three public hospitals which were managed by LNCHS and additionally, several other public and private sector hospitals in Newcastle and Sydney.
LNCHS executives requested a database of service-facility resources for the Area’s capital acquisition and maintenance program; a clinical services delivery plan defining beds required and an actionable Service-infrastructure (Asset) Strategic Development Plan for the Area’s hospital service.
In response, the products of the consultancy included the following :
BedPlan, A planning tool.
Clinical Services Delivery Plan. A report
Service-infrastructure Development Plan. A report
Service-infrastructures Database. A planning tool
Service-facilities Inventory Status. A report

My performance
"The Board were particularly pleased with the product. It will have value in our current capital acquisition program as well as provide a good database upon which to base our capital works acquisition and asset maintenance programs. We were also pleased with the working relationship we had with Bill finding him professional and co-operative. I trust the methodology that Bill used is of as much assistance to you as his product was to us.” General Manager LNCHS
