This component of the Mental Health Service-infrastructure Plan for Western Australia (8-2 above) recommended an increase in resources for the care of adults with mental illness, the development of acute services and facilities contiguous with each district general hospital, a specialised continuing care facility nearby, the redeployment of resources from the large centralised hospitals and the disposal of surplus properties with funds to be reinvested in mental health service development, as indicated by the accompanying map. This report was as well received as other components of the Plan.
