Autumn Crisp

Developed by Roger Way, this was the 63rd apple from the breeding program at Cornell University and was released in 2009. It is a Golden Delicious x Monroe cross, and has a yellow base color with a red blush. The crisp, juicy white flesh has a unique, sweet-tart flavor, and contains more Vitamin C than many varieties. It is a great choice for salads because it is slower to brown after slicing.

Flavor: Sweet-tart

Uses: Fresh eating, juice/cider, sauce, baking (stays in slices)

*Becomes milder/sweeter when cooked
