Assessment

Who, when, how and what do we assess? How do we help students self-assess? How do we make assessment a part of our instruction? Lots of questions for sure as we look at assessment. To get started, let's take a look at an infographic created by Mia McCeekin followed by a few resources also provided by Mia and from my own experience. As you ponder the various strategies, think about connecting to other sections of this site for additional ideas to further enhance your assessment techniques. One connection, for example, is to the Pedagogy & ICL (A-M) page to review the instructional strategies of students as bloggers and portfolio creators. Both put students at the helm of their learning journey while allowing their teachers and potentially fellow students opportunities to share ideas and give feedback for further growth and development.
