This is how it works:
You will need to wait to obtain a Personal Identification Number / P.I.N. from the Guidance Office.
O.U.A.C. mails P.I.N.S. to the school Guidance Office in November of each year.
Guidance will TWEET and FACEBOOK a message to all students when the P.I.N.S. arrive.
When you get your P.I.N you can now begin the application process.
The application is completely electronic and on the O.U.A.C. website.
You are allowed three program choices for a flat application fee.
Each additional choice is an additional fee. These fees change each year and are published on the O.U.A.C. website
Your application is submitted once the application fee is paid and a reference number is given.
You should print off a copy of your payment receipt and your reference number.
Your application information will now be sent electronically to each program choice.
Your transcripts will also be electronically sent to each program choice via the O.U.A.C site
The O.U.A.C website gives complete information on the application process and deadlines. Students are encouraged to read through the website thoroughly.
What transcript information do Ontario Universities use to determine if you will get an offer to a program?
For conditional early admission; an Ontario University will look at your grade 11 marks. If your grade 11 over-all average is VERY high you may get a conditional early offer to a program of your choice pending your required 6 U/M grade 12 course marks and that you meet all other program and graduation requirements. Many programs do no send out any early admission offers. Programs that are GRADES+ and require a portfolio or an interview will not hand out conditional early offers. Students do not apply for a conditional early offer. The university will let you know if you qualify for a conditional early offer. If you have questions you should call the admissions office of the university.
For regular admission, an Ontario University will look at your mid-term semester 1 grades, semester 1 final grades, semester 2 mid-term grades and your semester 2 final grades to determine if you will get a conditional offer to a program of your choice. Remember, all offers are conditional that you meet program and graduation requirements.
How can I can I get more information about Ontario Universities and their programs?
If you have a question about an Ontario University Program's requirements you should contact the University directly by calling or e-mail their admissions office. All this information is on the University website.
Students are encouraged to participate in the virtual information fairs delivered by the Ontario universities throughout the year. Bookmark the websites of all the universities of interest to you. Follow them on Twitter.
