DEATH of George DOCHERTY, 08 Oct 1882 in Usworth, County Durham
The death certificate states that he died from a fracture of the skull after an accidental fall into Usworth Quarry
Inquest held 10th October 1882
Sunderland Daily Echo, Tuesday October 10th 1882:-
"Fatal Accident - The body of Geo. Docherty, a miner, was found lying in Usworth Quarry yesterday morning. The skull was fractured, the man having fallen a distance of 60 feet. Docherty was last seen alive at Great Usworth on Saturday, when he left a public-house to proceed home."
