About the Game
A capstone game project for school. Assemble a wide range of abilities and items by drafting a deck of synergistic cards to conquer a dungeon filled with mythical enemies and fat loot.
What went right
The game's art assets were really lacking for a long time. One of our programmers, Thomas, created the visual effects, and our designer was able to take some art from Deviant Art and use it as the primary card art. Our card game was similar to Magic: The Gathering which only really requires concept art so our game looked and felt really polished even though our team had no artists.
What went wrong
I feel like a lot of people on the team weren't as committed to the project as they could have been. Also, two out of the four people working on the project had jobs on top of school, leading to hectic meeting schedules and ability to work on the project. Thus, we held very few meetings and rarely met in person.
