About the Game
A game jam made in a week about the theme "Teleportation". Hyper Flight is an intense space shoot-em-up game. The player must survive waves of enemies until his hyper-drive is fixed for him to teleport out. Along the way he'll need to grab powerups to upgrade his arsenal to survive the increasing difficulty.
What went right
Sprite sheet implementation was fast but not as fast as Gamemaker. Controls in general were tight, and we had screen wrap around like the original asteroids. I implemented the main cannon and the upgrades as well as the powerups. I also implemented the screen wrap around as well as the screen shake and cannon particle effects.
What went wrong
I think the game needed more features in general along with at least the minimum UI. A lot of features were left planned but unfinished. Also, one of the primary features, enemies, took too long to implement and push onto the repo for us to iterate and improve it.
