After learning about best recovery practices (building back faster, stronger, greener, or more equitably), the groups placed color-coded stickers on maps of Waikiki to indicate preferred recovery strategies in different locations. A composite map of the preferences from this activity will be used to guide short- and long-term redevelopment in Waikiki.
This activity was also repeated at the course, "Integrating Science into Emergency Management Decisions" at FEMA's Emergency Management Institute to gauge recovery preferences of executive level emergency managers. To view the results, click here.
