As a teacher, I aim to have a significant, positive and life-long impact on my students. I hope to not only impact my student through my teaching but also by fostering a sense of student self-esteem and belonging. Through these practices, I hope to increase student engagement and motivation. I want students to have a positive outlook on schooling and when they look back to their schooling days, have good memories of their time there.
Attached on the left are the teacher report cards I handed out to my Year 8 students. I intended on using these report cards for feedback. My students had written some great feedback and thanked me for being their teacher. Reading their feedback left me emotional and feeling very appreciated.
This Thank You Card was given to me by my Year 11 Chemistry students. My mentor and the students planned a class party for me on my last days. They gave me chocolates, speeches and the card. I once again was feeling very emotional and reminiscent of my time there.
The document is a transcribe of a speech one of my Year 10 students gave me on the last day of class. I was pleasantly surprised that he offered to do a speech as I regularly had to approach him on his misbehavior. Even with his behaviour, I am happy that we were able to form a positive relationship.
Vineetha demonstrated a high degree of commitment to the teaching profession and was willing to put in the extra hours in order to meet the demands of the job. Her maturity and friendliness has been most welcome within the Science faculty. Vineetha displayed an obvious commitment to teaching and was able to develop personal and professional relationships with students and staff during her time at Blackfriars. This was evident through her relaxed and confident approach with the students, which enabled her to gain their respect. Vineetha was able to begin her teaching block very well due to the fact she knew many of her student’s names within a couple of lessons. She immediately became familiar with the school’s behaviour management policy and was able to ensure that the students knew their boundaries and abided by them. She demonstrates a genuine interest of all students in her care and conveys an enthusiasm for teaching which definitely fostered a pleasing level of respect. Her students were eager and enthusiastic learners under her guidance.
