Larry W. Johnson

January 21, 1948 - May 13, 2013

Dr. Larry Wayne Johnson, age 65 years, of Pettisville, Ohio, went home to Heaven, Monday, May 13, 2013, after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born January 21, 1948, in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Seymour and Clara (Brown) Johnson. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1973 with a medical degree. He was a family practice physician in Michigan City, Indiana, from 1977-1993. Then he was an emergency room physician in Wauseon, Ohio, from 1996-2012.

On April 29, 1972 at Lake McBride, Iowa, Larry married Gloria Dell Wagler; they were married for 41 years. He loved his family, friends, and most of all his Lord. He was a member of Pettisville Missionary Church. He is survived by his wife; step-son, Joe (Beth) Horner, daughter, Angela (Seth) Adkins, both of Sarasota, Florida; a niece, Sarah Allbee; nine grandchildren, Seth (Kia), Jordan, Taylor, Daniel, Sydnie, Sean, Shiloh, Arianna, and Asher; two sisters, Leona (Bill) Kernen and Avon (Garry) Mumm; brother, Richard (Pat) Johnson; mother-in-law, Myrtie Wagler; and brothers-in-law, Richard (Litsa) Wagler, Bob (Deanna) Wagler, John (Janet) Wagler, Tom (Jeri) Wagler, Curtis Wagler, Tim (Sherry) Wagler, and Chris Wagler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at the Pettisville Missionary Church with Pastors Kent Norr, Tim Steiner, and John Horning officiating. Interment was at 2:00 p.m. in the Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation was at the Church from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. The family suggests that memorials be given to Women’s Resource Center of NW Ohio, Gideons International, Pettisville Missionary Church, or Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
