Kathleen McNerney is Professor Emerita of Hispanic Literature and Culture, as well as Women's Studies; she is Benedum Distinguished Scholar and Singer Professor of the Humanities at West Virginia University. Her publications include Latin American, Castilian, and French Literature, but most focus on Catalan women writers. Co-editor of Double Minorities of Spain (MLA 1994), she has also edited two collections of articles on Mercè Rodoreda.
Her most recent book is Visions and Revisions: Women's Narrative inTwentieth-Century Spain, with Kathleen Glenn (Rodopi 2008), and she has finished a bibliography on the critical works of Mercè Rodoreda, forthcoming from the Institut d'Estudis Catalans in Barcelona. She has translated several novels, short stories, poems, and essays, and plans to continue writing in her new/old home in Albuquerque.
