Konrad Veit

David Konrad Veit was known as Konrad.

Konrad served in the German Army during WW1, while in 1922 he is listed as working in insurance and then in 1924/5 as a trader in colonial goods. There is evidence that he ran a shoe business in Stuttgart.

He married Ida and they moved to Stuttgart where their son Werner was born on 31st July 1929. Konrad and family emigrated to Columbia where they suffered further persecution before finally making it to America in 1930's. Konrad learnt a trade and he used his carpentry skills in America where he produced furniture. His son Werner became publisher of the Grand Rapids Press and president of Booth Newspapers. Werner, who married Marianne, lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
