I think the project is starting to come together - I realized this week that the Methodology is the last section of our report that needs to get written for the proposal to be complete. On the other hand, there's a lot of editing left to be done, and there's only 18 days left. Scary.
As we drafted our Background this week, I spend a fair amount of time trying to research in Italian - Dylan found some links to start me out, and I made liberal use of Google Translate from there. Some of the translations are pretty goofy, but they're usually good enough if you look at the original text and use some common sense. I guess my high school Spanish and rudimentary Italian from this summer are coming in handy after all.
My research is on programs to assist people finding housing in Venice. One organization that kept coming up was the ATER Venezia, a public company that provides apartments. The image below, from an online article from the newspaper La Nuova di Venezia e Mestre, is an example of one such apartment.
