Interactive Map: Stores and Accommodations- A map of Venice that displays the most up to date information on the stores of Venice and gives the user the ability to sort the stores by year, by type, by main categories, and display heat maps and the Venipedia pages associated with it. The spreadsheets used can be viewed HERE.
Cruise Ship Data Live Feed (In Progress)- A live feed of the Cruise ships coming into Venice which will be placed on the Venice dashboard. By combining data acquired from the Venice Terminal Passeggeri and various other online sources a database of all the cruise ships to dock in Venice and the total number of passengers/crew will show the number of people brought to Venice in cruise ships on a daily basis.
Airplane live feed- A live feed of all the incoming Airplanes, the number of passengers they're carrying will be approximated and placed on the Venice Dashboard. Python language heavily used
Survey tourists and Use QGIS to combine Census tracts by island- A group will head out to the Boat dock at the Marco Polo airport and survey incoming tourists on (where, how long, etc) they are spending their time in Venice to determine the average stay and any underlying effects the tourists are having on the city.
Moreover, the QGIS console will be used to place the local population on an island by island basis, dependent on the Census tracts data
