With less than a week left in the term, the team is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We find ourselves sitting on a fully fledged report - riddled with errors and room for improvement (goodbye, weekend), but a report nonetheless. Somehow, over the past six weeks, our scramble to complete assignments one by one and survive the day-to-day demands of our project added up to enough material to make an actual paper.
Our deliverables are shaping up nicely as well. We've got data on cruise ships, a survey ready to be translated into an array of languages common to Venice's tourist population, some solid input to the City Knowledge Console, and a Python script able to read and log incoming flights to Marco Polo Airport. Again, we've got a lot to do, but we have the solid basis of a strong project.
The biggest aspiration we have for the project isn't our own success, but rather the success of future projects because of ours. The tools we design, the data we collect - if we do it correctly, we join the giants on whose shoulders future researchers will stand.
