UTS Baji Quan Class UTS八極拳班
Baji quan is a Chinese martial art that features explosive, short-range power and is famous for its elbow and shoulder strikes. It originated in the Hebei Province in Northern China, but spread to Taiwan and other places after it was introduced into the Central Guoshu Institute (Nanjing Guoshu Guan 南京國術館). Its full name is kai men baji quan (開門八極拳), which means "open-gate eight-extremities fist".

八極拳,一種中國北方傳統拳法,始於清初武術家「大槍王」吳鐘,流傳於中國河北滄州一帶。其拳術特色剛猛暴烈,與輕柔內歛的太極拳剛好相互對應。
八極拳與軍事系統聯繫緊密,由於拳法直接狠辣,殺傷力強,屢成為近代史上保護政要人物的「大內武術」。溥儀、蔣介石、毛澤東、蔣經國、李登輝等人的近身侍衛皆習八極。
在澳洲悉尼公開傳授八極拳的不多, 很多武術愛好者找不到好老師,故此特別開辦此課程推廣八極拳。
