Things to Bring from Home

The UCs recommend you bring the following:

Comfortable walking shoes, clothing that can be layered, warm coat and clothes for the winter, residence permit documents, prescription medication, voltage converter and plug adapter, English/Italian dictionary, Italian grammar book, vitamins (they can be expensive in Italy), Backpack with an inner frame, scarf, gloves, and hat, raincoat, one dressy outfit for formal occasions, any sports attire you may need, alarm clock, batteries, photos of family and friends

In addition, I recommend bringing:

Towels, hangers, containers smaller than 100ml, red dixie cups, snow attire, hiking boots, money belt (if you're really paranoid), webcam, books to read, sunglasses. multiple jackets with different heaviness, club attire, anything you feel you can't live without (within reason), laptop lock, extra hard drive, extra camera battery and memory, gloves, desk lamp, home cell phone and charger, computer cables (Ethernet)
