Season One
SG-1 visits P3X593 which has a male dominated society, females have to stay hidden from view and have no part in the hierarchy. A rival leader captures Captain Carter and the rest of the team have to rescue her.
As the first proper episode after establishing the back story, it was disappointing and I can understand why the UK video release order was changed. The first thing I noticed was a parallel with Star Trek with SG1 claiming to be from the "Sea of Ogada " a distant place. Then we had the complete 180 we have no prime directive, so let's interfere with their culture.
After establishing Sam as a strong female character, they then stuck her in a revealing dress and had Jack and Daniel drooling over her. Okay, Jack maybe, but at that point Daniel is supposed to be heartbroken, over the loss of his wife.
To be fair re-watching this episode recently it was better but it is still one of my least favourite. That is was in season one can be forgiven though as the series has improved a lot since then
