Getting started
Please read this document thoroughly before starting any work.
Before the car stereo is removed, it is recommended that all CDs are ejected from the CD player.
The tools required for removal of the Holden Commodore VE stereo are shown on Figure 1:
· 1x Phillips screwdriver
· 1x small slotted screwdriver.

The stereo removal is done in three steps.
Disassembling the glove box and disconnecting the stereo antenna.
Disassembling the stereo right side plastic panel and disconnecting the stereo loom.
Removing the stereo from the car stereo enclosure.
Disassembling the glove box and disconnecting the stereo antenna
The first step is to disassemble the trim panel above the glove box as shown on Figure 2 to Figure 6.

Next, disassemble the left side plastic cover circled in red on Figure 7 and Figure 8.

Remove the two small plastic covers circled in red on Figure 12

Use a slotted screwdriver as shown on Figure 13 and Figure 14.

Remove the insulation panel under the glove box (circled in red on Figure 15).

The antenna is disconnected from the radio by squizzing the connector locking tab circled in red on Figure 26 while simultaneously pulling out the connector.

The next step is to remove the right side plastic panel circled in red on Figure 28.

Push down the lower plastic panel as shown on Figure 29 and Figure 30.

Now the stereo loom connector is accessible (circled in red on Figure 32).

The connector can be disconnected by simultaneously pushing down and pulling out the locking tab circled in red on Figure 33.

The next step is to disassemble the radio fascia. Move the gear shift all the way back as shown on Figure 35.
