Website Basics - Part 5

Open to TTA members and friends in the Chinese community that have shown an interest in our free website and are seriously looking for a way to get started.

Part 5 - Populating Your Website  

• • Major Parts -- Header, body, sidebar, pages

  • Content -- Documents, hit counter, text

  • Placing "tables" from MS Office in the body and sidebar

  • Navigation -- Links, Tabs 

  • Custom -- Colors, Background

Table space & power is limited - 12 participants is our maximum (practical limit)

Prerequisites for class and workshop

• Basic knowledge related to the use of PC or Mac computers is required  to understand the material that will be presented since the goal is for participants to be able to create and edit basic websites at the end of the course.

• A Google Account (for any service, Gmail, Picassa, Docs...)

Wi-FI is available for participants with portable devices: computer, pad or phone

Topic - Creation of a simple website using available free resources like Google.

      2. photo workshop -- address photo editing topics keyed to website

    • techniques and available software (free, $ ... to $$)

    • platform - pad/phone, PC, MAC etc

  • sizing photos products for a website

  • creating

    • photo collage 

    • header/banner w/photos using graphic art tools

• Digitizing and recovery of old scrapbook or shoebox photos (Basic)
