The Treaty Gaels Under-12 Red and Yellow teams met in a very exciting match in Claughan GAA grounds last Thursday. A large group of parents turned out to support the teams both eager for victory. The weather held up for a hard fought match. The yellow team scored the all important first goal ten minutes into the first half with a fine strike from Ashleigh, This score seemed to give added confidence to the team. For the Yellows Pauline did great work at centre forward. Rachel also had a powerful game in the centre. Casey was another player that did a lot of work in the forward line. Reds battled hard, led by Captain Georgia. Keeper Niamh had a lot of work to do and made some great saves. Sophie played her part in keeping her players in the match. Mid way through the second half Cassandra got the yellow’s second goal and in the last five minutes Tori finished the game with third goal. All round it was a very good match and well done to all the girls they have developed so many skills in there first year at camogie. Great credit has to be given to the coaches and mentors for getting this number of girls out training and playing matches every week in all weather.
