A Very Successful Championship

Treaty Gaels have just finished all their championship games and with results of Played 13 Won 8 Drawn 1 Lost 4, getting to two Cup Finals and Semi-Final in the other, we have no hesitation in saying it was a very successful one.

Our U-16s beat Knockaderry and Templeglantine on their way to the C Cup Final. But unfortunately despite a valiant effort by the girls Murroe Boher proved just that bit stronger on the day.

Our U-12s won all three of their group games against Adare, Effin and Ahane but unfortunately were knocked out by a strong Knockaderry team at semi-final stage.

Our U-14s had the most games of all as they beat Blackrock, Mungret and Doon, drew with Knockaderry and lost to Na Piarsaigh in the group games. This meant they finished second and qualified for the C Final again against Na Piarsaigh. The two teams fought a great battle but Na Piarsaigh came out on top.

In all age groups we showed great character and sportsmanship battling hard right to the end.

Our U-10s and U8s also competed in their blitzes and performed very well indeed.

Though we finish the season with no championship trophy to show for the phenomenal effort that the girls have put in, the fact that we are now contesting at the top of the C grade in all age groups shows the progress we have made in the five years since our foundation. And as we make the shift to fielding teams at Minor and Junior grades next year and with all the talent we have at under age the future has never looked brighter for Treaty Gaels.
