2014 AGM

We will hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 8.00 pm on Thursday 13th 2014 in Ballincurra Gaels Clubhouse. The main business of the AGM is to review and report on the past year, to elect the committee to run the club next year, to consider and vote on proposals in relation to the club by accepting motions, and to discuss the future of the club.

The main officers (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, PRO) are directly voted and the other posts are filled from the other members of the Committee.

The committee consists of the following officers:

• Chair –overall running of the Club; involved in all decision-making, liaising with coaches, parents etc.; represents the Club externally (currently Angela Higgins), assisted by Deputy Chair as required (currently Kevin Holmes).

• Secretary – responsible for all correspondence within the Club and between the Club and the County Board and other outside parties (currently Helen Holmes). Assistant Secretary is appointed to help (currently Catherine Browne)

• Treasurer - manages finances; collects and accounts for money; issues and keeps track of cheques; prepares annual accounts. (currently Colette Maguire)

• Registrar – manages membership of the Club; registers details of new members, updates regularly using central registration system (currently Maura Shine)

• PRO – responsible for public relations, Facebook, Website, all publicity, taking team photos etc. (currently Kevin Holmes)

• Equipment officer – manages the Club’s equipment and plans for purchasing new equipment (currently Mark Wallace)

• Ordinary Committee members may take on a role like assistant secretary, deputy chair, equipment officer) or do not have a particular role, but take part in the decision-making for the Club, represent the Club at County Board meetings (monthly), take on projects within the club and represent the club on sub-committees of the County Board.

• Children’s Officer is an appointed position (currently Caroline Carmody).

Elections: Camogie Association Rules stipulate that only registered adult members and players aged 16 and over can be nominated, nominate a person, or vote on the nominations.

If you want to take part in the elections (by voting, standing or nominating) and you are not already a registered member, please make sure that you register either before the AGM by contacting Maura Shine (086 6011610; Maura.shine@hotmail.com) or on the night of the AGM. The membership fee is 10 euros.

Motions: If you have any proposals that you want to make to the AGM about the running, organisation or activities of the Club, please send by email to secretary.treatygaels.limerick.camogie@gaa.ie or text 087 6845773, stating the proposal you would like to make and give your name by 9th November.
