The AV030 standing committee internally develops a series of papers titled "Critical Issues in Aviation." The Transportation Research Board's Airport Cooperative Research Program has funded many projects related to aviation and the environment that may be of interest to AV030 Committee members and friends. More information on these sources are provided below.
Developed and published by the AV030 Committee, the Critical Issues in Aviation and the Environment Papers explore the environmental media affected by aviation activities and processes that link aviation and the environment. The circular consists of individually authored sections representing multiple authors' expert opinions on these issues.
Each Critical Issues Paper updates and expands upon previous circulars while maintaining their cross-disciplinary approach to reviewing subjects of interest to the civil aviation community in the United States. The circular focus is on the state of science, rather than on policy, and on identifying priority research with the potential to yield benefits during the next several years to several decades.
