TRB's AV030 Committee provides opportunities for research relating to aviation and the environment by:
Identifying research needs by developing Research Needs Statements and submitting research problem statements to the Cooperative Research Programs
Encouraging new research by issuing calls for papers and defining Critical Issues in Aviation and the Environment
Alerting the transportation community of recent and ongoing research through participation in TRB Annual Meetings, and mid-year Committee Meetings
Reviewing research papers for publication and TRB-sponsored award recognition
The Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) operates on a cyclical, annual research schedule. A rough calendar of the research schedule is provided to the right. The ACRP has a number of subprograms that are explained here.
