Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Mike Allegra, Chair, APTA Business Members Workforce Development Committee, we are seeking your support to promote the upcoming Passenger Railway Engineering Education Symposium taking place in Chicago, IL, July 22-24, 2019. This 3-day program is designed to “educate the educators,” while promoting the critical necessity of passenger rail engineering related academic courses within North American universities and colleges.
We are requesting your assistance in recruiting professors from colleges and universities in your communities that would benefit from this program. We would very much appreciate it if you could forward this information, the attached registration form and flyer to your educational contacts, or any university, community college, or trade school faculty in which you have connections. We are offering a stipend of $750 to participants.
The program was successfully held at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) in 2015 and the Los Angeles Trade Technical College in 2017, in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA). This year, the program will be hosted by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
Thanks to the efforts of Mike Allegra, Mike Loehr, Mark Magaldi, Bill Thomsen and others, the program has been finalized. We hope we can take advantage of any bridged relationships you have with educational institutions so that we all benefit from a continued, strong workforce. Please contact Brandon Roccio at broccio@apta.com or (202) 496-4859 and we will follow up.
