FRA Research Funding Programs Webinar
Hosted by: The Transportation Research Board Committee Research Coordinators Council
Tuesday, June 16, 2020
1:00 – 2:00 PM ET
Join the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the Transportation Research Board (TRB) to learn about FRA research funding opportunities for projects that improve the safety and efficiency of freight and passenger rail operations in the United States. FRA program managers from the Office of Research, Development and Technology will provide general information on such programs, their research focus areas, applicant eligibility, and project selection.
Through programs such as Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), and the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program, FRA makes opportunities available to government organizations, industry, and academia to conduct applied technology research. The agency then awards grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements to successful applicants.
Webinar attendees will learn about the different application requirements and timelines for each program. Although the webinar is aimed at TRB research coordinators, anyone with an interest in understanding how FRA makes federal funding available for research is encouraged to attend.
