Martha Euphrosyne Alicia MALAQUIN

1886-1903

Martha was born on the 01 September 1886, she was baptised at the Catholic Cathedral in central Christchurch on 21 April 1901 along with her sister Noemi.

There is no mention of her at New Brighton School or Marist Brothers School, so I do not know if she attended school or not.

Martha died of Acute Rheumatism aged 16 years on 22 July 1903; she is buried at Linwood cemetery.

Martha had been ill for quite some time.

We can find her death notice in ‘The Times’.

Waldemar became very upset when Martha's headstone was vandalised, he wrote letters to the Christchurch Council demanding they do something about the damage and the vandals.
