Pierre Olivier MALAQUIN

1855 -1881

Born c1855, in Orléans, France, first born child of Olivier & Euphrosyne.

I know nothing of Pierre's childhood except supposition, he probably traveled with his parents which puts him in Warsaw when his youngest brother Joseph was born. If the stories of Olivier turn out to be true then he was taught school lessons with Nicholas II, but I have a long way to go to turn these stories into fact.

The first hard evidence I have for Pierre is the 1871 census for Leicester, where he can be found with his mother & siblings. He is 16 years old and an apprentice in an Elastic Business, he is a French subject born in Orléans, France.

The next information I have been able to uncover is a newspaper ad with Pierre offering french lessons again in Leicester.

And finally another newspaper article showing his death in 1881 in Kairouan, Tunis
