You could argue that the traditional picture hanging rail system was the first gallery system of its kind. These strips of moulding were stuck to the walls of the great old European country houses because generally, the walls were too solid to penetrate with any type of hook.
To hang paintings, you simply popped a hook over the moulding and attached your artwork. It was a simple system but necessarily perfect; for starters, the artworks tended to lean out too far from the wall.
Picture Rail System
Whilst picture rails disappeared for a bit, after hardware stores started selling nail and hook kits, they have made a welcome return. It is now once again possible to buy moulded or timber picture rails to add to your home.
That, however, caused another problem and that was getting the hangers and hooks needed to use the system. The problem was quickly rectified, however, when the Gallery System UK introduced its traditional picture rail system.
Instead of using the picture hangers and hooks on a track, you can use them on your traditional picture rail system by adding stainless steel or solid brass picture rail hooks. The effect is the same, but far better suited to a historic home or Queenslander.
Give Your Home a Traditional Look
This system has proved to be a huge hit with home renovators, especially given the number of home makeover shows on TV. The solid brass is a lovely traditional touch.
Funnily enough, one age-old problem continued to be a bit of an issue, and that’s the lean out from the wall. Gallery System UK, however, came up with an amazing solution, namely the HangRight Clip. Problem solved!
Very easy to use, and compatible with the traditional picture rail systems, the HangRight Clip is inexpensive and available online. So, if you’re renovating, or just love those classic old architectural styles, you can now add them to your own home.
