Gotchas

A place to put the Gotchas, The Mistakes and pitfalls to watch out for.

First up: The fuel pump air bleed connection

The banjo bolt on the left is the correct one to connect the bleed rail to the fuel pump. We learned the hard way that using the right hand one results in air just getting pumped around and the engine not running properly.

Note, the very small air bleed hole and the mesh filter inside. The right hand one is a fuel connection banjo. They are easily swapped and it difficult to notice the mistake.

Banjo Bolts good and bad

To problem solve, Work through the fuel system from the tank, lift pump, filter etc to ensure have the correct components in place, there are no leaks or blockages.
