"Jamarc" is Bates Starcraft 45 based on the east coast. Her horizontal Perkins HT6-354M motors were time-expired so the owner plumped for a couple of 180HP Cummins B-Series suitably specced to keep the original gearbox ratio, and propellors.
Note the reduction Borg-Warner gearboxes. The weight of the steel flywheel housing and the reduction unit, moves the motor's centre of gravity quite a long way back.
Here's a shot of the second (port) motor for "Jamarc".
The "low-line" inlet tract and air filter make the whole thing look very neat.
Here they are, installed in the boat
["In case you're wondering what the bearing supported by the massive grey painted steel brackets is, it's an Aquadrive unit that transfers the thrust directly from the propshaft to the hull, leaving the engine having soft mounts that isolates vibration and, hopefully, noise." - Ron]
Plenty of room to work around the motors for daily checks and those mounting brackets look very neat.
Overall, a very nice installation.
Please can we have drawings of the mounting brackets Ron?
Here she is in action after the re-power:-
