Investars.com is an online investment information service featuring an intuitive system for computing "batting averages for brokerages" based on analysts' stock recommendations. Sprung PR, in conjunction with Marx Communications, handled the site launch. After working with Investars’ principals through spring 2001 to refine the site and highlight the most explosive findings, we kicked off the media campaign with a New York Times exclusive -- a "Market Watch" column devoted to Investars' findings that ran on May 31, 2001. Investars swiftly obtained further stand-alone coverage in the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Time, Money, The Industry Standard, SmartMoney.com, and several European and worldwide publications, including Handelsblatt and the Jerusalem Post. Investars executives appeared on CNBC -- which named Investars a "Best of Breed" provider of trustworthy investment information -- as well as on BBC Television, Bloomberg Television, CNN, and Reuters Television. Investars data was subsequently cited and its executives quoted repeatedly in theThe Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, The Financial Times, The Washington Post, TheLos Angeles Times , and TheStreet.com. The extensive coverage resulted in Investars’ CEO Kei Kianpoor testifying in Congressional hearings and was instrumental in attracting key partnership agreements.
